New for the crime fiction community

The Murder Room is a new digital initiative from Orion Books, publisher of Bloody Scotland authors Ian Rankin and Denise Mina.

Launching this weekend, just as we kick off festivities in Stirling, The Murder Room is a new online portal devoted to bringing hard-to-find or out-of-print crime classics to a brand new audience.

Ebooks of vintage crime and thriller titles by such giants of the genre as James M. Cain, James Hadley Chase and John Dickson Carr will soon be available to buy from online retailers – alongside Orion’s stable of bestselling contemporary authors such as Ian Rankin, Harlan Coben and Denise Mina. Some classic crime titles will be available for the first time in a generation.

But it’s not just about buying the ebooks. The Murder Room aims to become a major online destination for crime readers, with regular exclusive features by today’s leading authors, plus interviews, extracts and competitions and breaking news from the crime-writing community.

Win an iPad…

Click this link to complete a survey designed to reveal the most popular category of crime novels. Will it be police procedurals or are detective novels the nation’s favourite? Are you a huge fan of espionage stories or do you prefer a good psychological thriller? Or perhaps it’s the darker ‘noir’ novels that keep you hooked. All entries into the survey will be entered into a prize draw to win an iPad (terms and conditions apply, closing date 30th November).

And just for you…

All Bloody Scotland fans who take part will also be entered into a separate prize draw to win the latest hardback and paperback novels by Ian Rankin and Denise Mina.
