The Bloody Scotland programme is finally here – and we’re excited to share it with you!

The launch took place at Deanston distillery, near Stirling, where a lucky few had the opportunity to enjoy two of Scotland’s greatest exports – whisky and crime fiction.

The international bestselling author Christopher Brookmyre was in attendance, joining festival founders and fellow authors – Alex Gray and Lin Anderson – to announce the programme for Bloody Scotland, Scotland’s International Crime Writing Festival, sponsored by Mazars, from 13-15 September 2013 in Stirling.

The second year of the festival builds on last year’s huge success as it casts its net internationally, gathering bestselling sensations including Lee Child, who will discuss the global phenomenon of his Jack Reacher novels, while Norway’s Jo Nesbø leads a dazzling line up of Nordic writers, including Arne Dahl and Mons Kallentoft.

As before, Scottish talent will run through the heart of the festival line up with Val McDermid, Stuart MacBride,William McIlvanney, Quintin Jardine, Louise Welsh,Denise Mina, Craig Roberston and Gordon Brown appearing.

There will be masterclasses and workshops on offer in partnership with The University of Stirling as well as an interactive crime scene to explore over the weekend.
The Deanston Scottish Crime Book of the Year Award will also be returning this year, with the winner being announced at a gala dinner on Saturday 14 September where you will have the chance to meet and mingle with your favourite authors!
