(Due to the logistical demands of these events, we will have to know the numbers in advance. But rest assured that you will be able to buy tickets for all of our other events right up until the minute before the event begins.)
The Deanston Scottish Crime Book of the Year Award Dinner will be an exclusive opportunity to meet, mingle and dine with your favourite Bloody Scotland authors!

Our Crime Writing Masterclasses (in partnership with the University of Stirling) are a great opportunity
for any aspiring crime writers.
Whether you’re trying your hand at crime fiction for the first time or already working on a novel, our practical classes – taught by the university’s creative writing staff – will help you hone your skills and get insights into the fast-changing marketplace.
The day will include:
- a keynote address on the craft of crime writing from Val McDermid
- Morning and afternoon writing workshops led by Alex Gray and Liam Murray Bell
- a panel of agents and publishers, including Jenny Brown, David Shelley and Claire Squires (Stirling Centre for International Publishing and Communication
