Bloody Scotland

Thank you all for joining us for our Spring Bloody Scotland Book Club, last night.
For those of you who missed it, you can catch up here:
youtu.be/xs91vuzVtVk

The session was hosted by crime writer Gordon J. Brown, who was joined by: Mary Picken, Jonathan Whitelaw and Louise Fairbairn for a discussion on three thrilling reads:

Midnight at Malabar House by Vaseem Khan
Thin Air by Lisa Gray &
The Sign of Four by Arthur Conan Doyle.

Our Summer book club will take place on Wednesday the 26th of July, but we’ll be treating you to another Bloody Scotland recommendations video before that. Keep your eyes peeled for more information coming your way in due course.

Another great reading – what did you think of Midnight at Malabar House?

What a reading! Did you all enjoy Thin Air?

What did you all think of Sign of the Four?

Welcome along everyone! Thanks for joining us :)

Loved Thin Air, I remember Lisa talk about writing it

First time I have read a Lisa Grey novel, I’m afraid it wasn’t for me. I personally couldn’t engage with the characters, or the story.

Sharp contrast to the books I usually read. An interesting change.

I love that Persus looses her temper.

Really enjoyed the book. Some great lines.

I loved the walk down memory lane reading Sherlock Holmes, and throughly enjoyed the story. Good choice

I came to the party late so I haven't had time to read Thin Air yet – I have the book and planning to start it this evening.

It has been a long time. Hope you are all well. Enjoy.

I love Lisa's writing.

Loved Thin Air…and her style of writing. Couldn’t put this book down!

Yes, the setting was outstanding, no wonder people think Lisa is from USA

Glad this is back and I’m well prepared for a change

Details of the time made the book much richer.

I really enjoyed Midnight at Malabar House. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series now.

And it’s a brilliant read Gordon!

Having these readings is wonderful!

Campbell's Scottish accent was a bit dodgy in the audio book 🙂

Already read the series to date 👏

I feel the same as Jonathan, I enjoyed all the information about partition and thought the background information about Persis was relevant to her character.

She’s a fantastic writer

Thank you all for a really interesting discussion
