The Witching Hour: CJ Cooke, Claire Mitchell KC & Zoe Venditozzi

Saturday 13th September - 20:30

Join us for an exploration of witches in fact and fiction as we discuss the misogynistic mania behind the witch hunts of 16th and 18th century Scotland.
Claire Mitchell and Zoe Venditozzi’s fascinating How to Kill a Witch: A Guide for the Patriarchy is a work of real historical investigation and serves as both a timely reminder and a fierce warning. Witches are CJ Cooke’s tour de force and her new novel, The Last Witch, is a suitably harrowing tale. Based on a real-life event, it gives voice to the silenced and lays bare the horrors of being accused.
This event will be sponsored by the Faculty of Advocates and chaired by Laura Thompson
